What you appreciate, appreciates.

“What you appreciate, appreciates.”

I love sending cards with personal notes. It’s my way of spreading kindness and expressing gratitude and appreciation. I get that from my mother. She’s a mega card sender. If she ever met you, you would get a birthday and holiday card from her every year. That’s why for her 90th birthday, we asked family and friends to send her a birthday card. We were hoping for 90 for 90. She got 215!

Turns out February is a great month for card sending and spreading kindness and appreciation.
Probably the most celebrated card sending day is Valentine’s Day. Feb. 14th.

But did you know there are several other national holidays in February that encourage card sending?

Feb. 7 is National Send a Card to a Friend Day. It’s a proven fact that sending a card to a friend and telling them how much you appreciate them can make you happier and healthier.

Feb. 16 is National Do a Grouch a Favor Day. We all know a grouch and God forbid; we may even be one—sometimes! Sending a card could be just the ticket to turn that frown upside down and bring a smile to someone that normally doesn’t smile. They just might appreciate the gesture.

Feb. 17 is National Random Acts of Kindness Day. What a better way to celebrate the day than by sending a card to someone who has had a positive impact on your life and letting them know how much you appreciate them.

There are so many positive things to be said about sending cards. Granted it takes time and effort to pick out the card, buy it, write a note in it, seal it and put it in the mail. We’re all such busy people. Thanks to technology and good old American innovation, I’ve found a card system that eliminates most of those steps and makes sending a card a joy. It’s called Send Out Cards and the company was founded on the belief that spreading kindness could have a positive impact on the world.
